You know when you try something and like it so much that your body thinks it has to have it like every single day for the next three months? Wellllll that’s where I am at with the snacks on this list. They are just such good combinations of everything I enjoy and I am forever grateful I stumbled upon the concoctions with my own testing of ingredients AND eyed them out on my favorite blogs. I think anyone looking for new ideas when it comes to healthy quick snacks will love these too.
Quinoa Chia Freezer Bars are genius. I stumbled across this recipe as I was scrolling through Ilene’s food blog, The Colorful Kitchen. She is one of my favorites. (For all of my favorite bloggers, check out my post: Recommended Food Bloggers to Follow).

I was craving a crunchy peanut buttery treat that I could pre-make and have for breakfast or as an afternoon or late night snack. So these quinoa chia bars were perfect. For ingredients, all it takes is….
- Puffed quinoa
- Coconut oil
- Agave
- Nut butter (I use peanut butter but almond butter is just as good)
- Chia seeds
- Vanilla extract
- Salt
Once you puff/pop the quinoa (video showing how to do so here: How to Pop Quinoa) and have all of the other ingredients, you combine them in a large bowl, stir them up real good and scoop the mixture onto a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Lay it out and use your hands to form a rectangular shape with the mixture. Then, place it in the freezer for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, the mixture should be firm and you can cut it into slices and store in the refrigerator for your next snack or breakfast.

Green Smoothies- Many different food bloggers offer up an assortment of delicious smoothie recipes. Thank you for sharing. I am a smoothie ADDICT. I seriously leave work dreaming of the smoothie I am going to sip the second I get home. My favorite smoothie right now is my very own dairy free green smoothie. The ingredients?
- One Large Banana
- One Cup of Almond Milk or Cashew Milk
- Handful of Spinach
- 2 spoonful’s of pumpkin puree
- Spoonful of chia seeds
- Spoonful of Nut Butter or Peanut Butter
- Dash of cinnamon
Throw all of these into a blender and in 45 seconds you can indulge. Sometimes, I top this smoothie with chopped almond slices. All I can say is YUM.
Egg-in-a-holes are a definite go-to for me especially when I am craving something salty and am looking for something quick and filling. I am a huge fan of Ezekiel sprouted whole grain bread but any bread will do. All you need is….
- Slice of Bread
- Coconut Oil (or butter if you must)
- One Egg
- Salt & Pepper
Optional but necessary additions: hot sauce, cherry tomatoes and avocado.
So, cut a circle in the center of the bread slice, throw a pan on the stove and melt some coconut oil. Then, place the carved piece of bread in the pan, crack open an egg and let it cook through. After a few minutes, flip the piece of bread over, add a little pepper and grab a plate. Once on the plate, I add a few squirts of hot sauce, an avocado slice and a few thinly sliced cherry tomatoes on top and call it a day. It’s delicious.
Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Dough Bites (Vegan & Gluten-Free)

These taste just like cookie dough but without the added sugar and butter. My kind of snack. These are seriously addicting and take about 10 minutes to make. All you need is…
- Soft & Moist Dates (if they are hard, they won’t work)
- Quick Oats
- Raisins
- Maple Syrup or Agave
- Vanilla
- Sea salt
- Cinnamon
Once you have the ingredients, add everything except the raisins into a food processor and mix until smooth. Then place the mixture into a bowl, add the raisins and roll the mixture into balls. Store the balls in the fridge in a sealed container and pop these wonderful things into your mouth whenever your heart desires. They are quite tasty. Thanks for the idea, Deryn, owner of Running on Real Food blog.

Lastly, Sweet Potato Chips. If you are my boyfriend or roommate you know how often I consume these. Sweet potato is my favorite food and I just can’t get enough of these chips with cinnamon on top.
They are extremely simple to make. Grab a cutting board, slice one large sweet potato into small thin slices, spray a baking sheet with coconut oil spray or drizzle with olive oil, place the sweet potato slices evenly across the pan and you’re good to go. I sprinkle powdered cinnamon on top of my slices before popping them in the oven for 25 minutes, but you can definitely go without if you aren’t as crazy about cinnamon as I am. For dipping sauce try honey if you are looking for something sweet or honey mustard dip. Honey mustard dip is the perfect complement for these chips. My favorite is the Hot and Sweet Mustard dip from Trader Joe’s.
Enjoy!
