#3 Blue Shirt Café// www.blueshirtcafedavis.com
I am a loyal customer of this joint. It’s not easy to find a sandwich shop in the Boston area that serves up sandwiches that are consistently fresh and satisfying, BUT I found that Blue Shirt café beats the odds. Lots of options and daily specials at a reasonable price. The yelp reviews are not as great as you would think and given the fact that I am a huge yelper and big on reading reviews myself, you would think the iffy reviews would scare me away. BUT, I disagree with the reviews. They have some solid sandwiches here and I like the fact that all sandwiches can be made into a salad. My go-to sandwich is the Thai-seared peanut chicken wrap. This sandwich is jam packed with grilled chicken, jasmine rice, mint-cucumber slaw and a bomb house-made peanut sauce. Another stand out is the Curried Indonesian Tuna Salad Panini, served with yummy spices, diced apples and raisins, lettuce, tomato and sprouts.
They also have many vegetarian sandwich options, salads, and over 15 juices and smoothies with an assortment of ingredients and fun combinations of fruits and vegetables. Sit in or take out, both are welcome. Free WIFI too, so you can scarf down a sandwich, surf the web, and get some work done.
