I have been living in Somerville for three years. Three years! I can’t believe it. With that many years under my belt, I have totally scoped out some of the best of the best places to eat, drink, and hang. That said, new places are popping up left and right all the time, so this top list is ever changing. However, I can tell you that these are some fabulous spots that are not going out of style any time soon.
Every day for five days, I will share one of my top five favorite Somerville spots right now. One recommendation for good grub, drinks and vibes every day.

If you like German food and an intimate dining experience, come here. Located right in Union Square this is the perfect date night spot or group date pick. They have an extensive list of imported beer from Poland, Germany and Austria and a cocktail list that will totally catch your eye. I had the Gin Radler, made with Citadelle, Stiegl Grapefruit Radler and St. Germain while my partner in crime had the highly recommended Zwolf cocktail, a very interesting yet enjoyable concoction of vodka, pineapple walnut and cherry heering liquor. These drinks were so refreshing on a hot summer night. As for dishes, the favorites include: schnitzel, pierogi and the bretzel with spicy horseradish mustard. Start with the huge bretzel (pretzel) and follow it with a generous portion of crispy pork schnitzel served over potato-carrot mash or the pierogi, which has recently been offered with a duck confit and creamy potato filling, topped with a creamy dill yogurt drizzle and a side sauerkraut salad.

The menu isn’t overwhelming and offers plenty of hearty and traditional German fare. The ingredient lists in each item make the flavors pop and the portions are just right. Check this place out. The vibe is so perfect and they take online reservations!
